Update
This is the hardest thing I have ever had to talk about, Jon is in a great deal of pain, and managing that pain is just the tip of the iceberg.
Jillian and I went to visit today, we arrived around 12:30 in the afternoon. Jon now has a hospital bed in the “Michigan room” and has a Hospice care nurse, (Kathy) She has been a great deal of help.
As we all know, somethings in life are very unfair, this is one of them. I look at all the tuff spots in life that I have found myself in, and nothing can compare to the thought of what Jon is going through right now. I would trade spots with him in a heart beat if I could. He even sat in his bed, gave me a huge hug and told me he wished that he could help me out with the things going on in my life. It floors me to know how much my brother loves me, and to put aside his own pain to worry about me?.. its amazing. We chatted about the coming weeks and some things he has already prepared for. but really, How do you? Many people, Family, Friends or simply folks that have just met Jon once know that he is a good man, a great Father, Husband, Son, Brother, Cousin, Nephew, Friend, Neighbor, Boss, and Co-Worker. Today I heard Jon talking to the Pastor about a time when he was with Taylor and Travis and said “Hello” to a total stranger as they walked past. Taylor asked why he would say hi to someone he didn’t know, Jon went on to explain to Taylor that you never know when your going to meet the person that can make a difference, and to some people a smile and a hello will mean the world, . . . you don’t know what they have been through in life, its just a good thing to be a “Good person” 6 degree’s of seperation he said. My brother is a Genius, both of them actually! I’m extremely proud of all of my family for pulling together in this tragic time.
We’re looking forward to visiting tomorrow as well, This weekend Uncle George is going to visit (Sunday). We had a large amount of family gather two weeks ago, That meant alot to Jon, Thanks to Kristy, Aunt Beth and the “cousins” to pull it all off with a few days notice- THANK YOU. . . sometimes we never hear that, we just know that we are appreciated.
So, please take this time to give Jon a call, stop by if you can. I talk to him on the phone almost everyday and each time he is very upbeat, he is amazing considering the circumstances.
