Runyan Lake

Tuesday Mikie called and invited Jillian & I  out on the Pontoon,   after the morning nap, I slopped on the "waterbabies" 50spf sunblock all over her, got her in her bikini and headed out. (Beautiful day)

I have discovered that Jillian Loves the outdoors, especially the Sun and Water! We arrived at Mikies Parents about 1:30 and went straight to the pontoon.  We kicked back eating her new favorite snack, dried blueberries, and watched as Mikie, Jen & Jippy fished. They caught a few, Jillian was interested but didn't want to get too close. Finally we anchored by the island and ventured off the pontoon with our little float.   Jillian was sitting by the headrest on her knees trying to touch the water on both sides, weighing only 22 lbs she barley displaces anything on the raft! As we get to shallow water I pick her up and dobb her feet in as she giggles, now I have a little bobber!  ;) Up and Down – Up and Down, now she's Roaring! and its making me laugh hystrically. She definately gets her "laughing" gene from me (Its the little things that amuse me). Now we are up to her "little swimmer's" and she realizes "Hey I can touch" I think the exact word was a kind-of a questioning sigh Like scooby-doo "huuaigh" and then the real fun began, she was pushing the raft around walking thru the water like she's pushing a shopping cart thru a candy store! That smile is AMAZING! After spashing and having fun, we get back on the pontoon for some more blueberries and a couple Mini cheddar hot-dogs, sippie cup and a nice cold beverage for dad, had a little picnic with our friends!

With all of this hard work of having fun, Jillian decided to kick back and enjoy a little sun bathing.   Being the boater she is she insisted on driving (so she thinks) and I snapped this pic showing her determination.

We got back to Vauters and found dinner waiting for us, Yum! THANK YOU!

Potty Time

May 13th, 2006::   Ahh yes, the moment that all parents dream about. . .  Babies using the potty! Although Jillian has used her "Thrown" twice already, tonight was really special. She made it clear to us that she needed to go and took matters into her own hands. Wriggling out of her pants and trying her best to un-snap her onesie (for the guys with puzzled looks on their faces, its like a 1 piece) she finally accepted help from Mom and then she was on her way to the "Potty Chair". I guess something good was on T.V. cause I (being the man I am) moved her potty chair closer to it. after a few minutes of figiting, "Walla" she made potty! Caroline & I congradulated her on a Great job! If you don't have little ones then your thinking, whats the big deal…. well let me put it into perspective. Winning $10 on a scratch-off as opposed to Winning the Lottery- Its that huge. Next is "pull-ups" and I can't wait!

May 15th 2006:: I decided to Edit this post instead of making a new one, Tonight we had #2, okay, I know your thinking "TMI" (too much information) but This is a Historical record that some day my little girl will read and know for a FACT that her old man is a weird-o. . .  She was really proud of herself, almost as proud as I was. Gonna start buying pull-ups! "yeah-whoo"

Replaced by a T.V.

I know its horribly bad to use a television as some form of electronic babysitter, but I can't help it at times when there is so much to do and no time to do it… Today we spent mostly outside. Caroline needed to get some things at COSTCO so I volunteered us (Jillian & I).

I tried to time our trip out perfectly, Nap-time with Lunch, Diaper changing and the 30 minute drive between costco and our house. Everything went well, cruising thru the store looking at what we could see (Jillian has a way of "point and go" to direct me exactly where she wants to go) Luckily Jill spoted the flowers 'Just what we were here for!'. Jillian helped with picking out roses for a bridal shower that Caroline is hosting for her friend Dana. We stopped at McDonalds on the way home, french fries are her favorite and would offer me bribes for the ride home.

Well, since we spent our day being active, Jillian decided that we would watch a video, and not just ANY video, specifically a "BARNEY" video.. (Jillian in the past 2 weeks has started to display a very noticable bond with a Purple Dinasour named BARNEY). So this has hit pretty hard today when she plops down in her soft blue chair in front of the television and starts saying "Barney pleeeze"  Of course she says it in the cutest little voice…(I am completely aware that I'm wrapped around her little finger) so I fold to her requests and start the video, the first sight of that purple bastard and she jumps up and Hugs the TV ?  jokingly I say "Who's your daddy??" she looks me square and says "Barney" while she is pointing at the T.V. . . . I'm in trouble!

Jillians World

This Category will be a great way to write about my Daughter growing up.

As simple as some things are, they are often forgotten. This will be a reminder of all the little stages she has gone thru and will go thru.
